Signs of the Times
Officers responded to reports that an exorcism was taking place at a home in Arizona on July 30, 2007. They entered a bedroom of the home to find a 3 year old girl being strangled by her grandfather who was covered in blood. Officers also found the child's mother naked and covered in blood in the room.
After hearing screams coming from the room, the police removed a mattress that had been placed against the bedroom door and tazered the grandfather who was later pronounced dead.
"The purpose was to release demons from this very young child," said Sgt. Joel Tranter.
The mother was not arrested, but police are considering criminal charges, according to Sgt. Joel Tranter.

This is a very bizarre story. What we don't realize is that stories like this happen every day. I once read a similar story where FBI officers had entered a home where a human sacrifice was taking place in some kind of witchcraft ceremony also involving cannibalism and a decapitation.
The most interesting question is what causes human beings to act out in such bizarre ways? What should our reaction be? Honestly, there are those of us who believe that there is a much deeper meaning to these types of events and is evidence to the fact that there is something very inhumane or perhaps non-human about a great segment of our society. Just food for thought.
